Cloud computing, the end game of Service Oriented Infrastructure, is apparently the new utopia!

We hear about getting our computing power and services "from the Cloud" and most of us already do get some of our services this way, storage of our photos and all manner of life events on social networking sites, e-mail accounts etc.

Is the Cloud ready for the Enterprise? What are the implications and considerations of getting applications and services bundled with storage, memory processing and security from the Cloud. How do YOU prepare for this new computing paradigm?

About The Speaker

Peter Shephard is a Senior Consultant working at Datacom Systems Wellington, specialising in Infrastructure Architecture and Systems Integration. Peter has been with Datacom for over 9 years. During this time he has worked in a number of roles with key Datacom clients, which amongst others include:

• As the Systems Architect for the New Zealand Post Account,
• As the Programme Manager responsible for the delivery of the Census 2006, Online Option developed by Datacom for Statistics New Zealand.

Prior to Datacom Peter worked for IBM NZ as a Senior Systems Engineer, and in South Africa as Principal Network Architect for Amalgamated Banks of South Africa (ABSA) which at the time was the largest bank in Africa.
