Final Fireside Chat of 2024 – for our final Fireside if the year is one Vic is very excited about, she will be joined by Engie Matene, a fabulous wāhine Māori digital technology leader, future thinker and innovator.
Vic and Engie will discuss Digital Identity and the broader context of identity, how to create safe solutions for Māori communities. They will also talk about public digital infrastructure, decentralised asset organisations and a range of challenges Aotearoa is facing today.

Is a wahine Māori me Kuki Airani from Aotearoa, a leader in the core-team of the Mātou Collective. As a co-founder, her work is deeply rooted in mana motuhake — the right of her people to self-determination. Guided by her culture, and driven by the aspirations of her people, Engie leads technology initiatives by, with and for community to weave Māori values into the digital realm, championing Indigenous Identity and Data Sovereignty.
