MEGA-BREAKFAST: The up[load]s and down[load]s of Copyright Infringement
In light of recent allegations involving Megaupload's Kim Dotcom and his associates, copyright infringement in all its facets is back in the lime-light and individuals and businesses are left wondering how will all this affect them.
IITP Auckland invites you to attend MEGA-BREAKFAST, an action packed, informative and entertaining breakfast presentation looking at this controversial issue in a little more detail.
MEGA-BREAKFAST has a panel of experts each presenting on 3 distinct areas:
- What happened at Megaupload, and legal issues surrounding Copyright Infringement and, for instance, the associated SOPA/PIPA legislation you keep hearing about in the US.
- Impact on Business, Innovation and very importantly, Cloud Services as a result. Could the Megaupload case set back trust in Cloud offerings?
- Future of Copyright in an internet world and how agreements like the Trans Pacific Partnership are significantly shaping this, in secret and in an environment where tech could be sold down the river.
MEGA-Breakfast has a panel of mega-experts including prominent IT Lawyer Rick Shera, InternetNZ CEO Vikram Kumar, and TPP-Watch Founder and University of Auckland Law School's Jane Kelsey. Not to be missed.
Includes full plated breakfast. Places are limited so get in quick!
